Welcome to Class 3

Welcome to Class 3, our Upper Key Stage 2 class, where you will join our children in Years 5 and 6 in the final stage of their primary school journey.

Years 5 and 6 are truly fantastic opportunities for reading and writing. Covering a range of high-quality reading texts throughout the year, children have the opportunity to argue and persuade, to explain and inform and, best of all, to enchant and mesmerise through narratives. The world of children’s literature in Y5 and Y6 offers so many incredible stories which are dripping with rich language - it is impossible not to just jump in and lose yourself.

In Class 3, children will also learn how to solve simple algebraic equations, manipulate fractions and explore a range of fascinating topics, including the World Wars, Evolution and Outer Space.

One of the most anticipated aspects of Class 3 is our three-day residential at PGL in Caythorpe, where children are physically and emotionally challenged through a range of activities, including abseiling, zip-wires, and quadbikes. As well as this, our Y6 trip to the Warning Zone in Leicester is always a highlight of the year, where we learn how to stay safe in both the real and digital world.

In Class 3, our young people develop as individuals, complete with their own sets of unique talents, interests and personalities. We provide our children with endless opportunities to grow as individuals, both academically and socially, through a range of exciting experiences; these encourage them to grow as independent, creative, enthusiastic and thoughtful young people with strong morals and a thirst for learning.

Our ethos centres around our core values, such as perseverance, respect, friendship and forgiveness. Combined, as we prepare our young individuals for the next stages of their journey, we endeavour to develop skills and knowledge, whilst creating memories which will guide and support them through life.
